Effective April 2026Nothing. im.ai operates without analytics, crash reporters, advertising IDs, or user accounts. There is no backend. There is no database of users.
When you use a local model (powered by llama.cpp), every message you send and every response you receive stays entirely on your device. No data is transmitted to any server. No internet connection is required or used. When you delete the app, everything is gone.
When you connect to a cloud provider such as Google Gemini, Groq, OpenRouter, Cerebras, or GitHub Models, your messages travel directly from your device to that provider using your own API key. im.ai is not a proxy. We do not see, log, or retain any of these messages.
Please review each provider's own privacy policy to understand how they handle your data.
API keys you enter are stored in the system Keychain on your device. They are never transmitted to any im.ai server because no im.ai server exists.
im.ai requests network access only when you use a cloud provider, and local storage access to save conversation history on your device. The app never requests access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, or photo library.
When you download a local model, your device connects directly to the model's distribution source (such as Hugging Face). im.ai does not proxy or track these downloads.
im.ai is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
If this policy changes materially, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the app after any change constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
